Frequently Asked Questions about Outcomes Collaborative Practice Agreements for Vaccines.
What is a Collaborative Practice Agreement (CPA) for Vaccines?
A CPA is a physician-signed, state-specific agreement that allows for pharmacists to immunize using the protocol doctor. Our Collaborative Practice Agreement for Vaccines allows you to administer eligible vaccines without a prescription. Outcomes handles all the physician relations, contracting, and protocol updates so you can focus on patient care.
The Collaborative Practice Agreement:
- Saves you time and costs associated with obtaining your own contract.
- Reduces the challenges of drafting state-specific collaborative practice agreements on your own.
- Streamlines the process of identifying eligible physicians and obtaining signatures.
What states have the CPA available?
Outcomes currently offers a CPA in 39 states. Please see the CPA Coverage Map for the list of included states.

Does the CPA expire?
Yes. The CPA's expiration date is typically one year from the physician’s signature date. GA, RI, and WA are exceptions and are active for 2 years from the physician’s signature date. Active clients are automatically enrolled for a CPA renewal and will be sent an updated CPA prior to the expiration date.
What is the CPA renewal process?
CPAs are renewed prior to their expiration date. As an active client, you will receive the updated CPA via email. Pharmacists must electronically sign the updated document and from there can download and store a copy at the pharmacy.
